Last Pin Standing

Welcome to Last Pin Standing! Made for the GameDev.TV 2024 Game Jam!

Controls are:
W/A/S/D - Select spot to move to
Space Bar - Move to spot / Start Game
Escape - Pause Game

You are the last pin standing after the bowling balls attacked. It’s up yo you to avenge your fallen friends and family by remaining up for as long as you can. Jump and dodge as the bowling balls try to knock you down, and get the biggest high score you can!

Playable in Browser and via Windows download. Wasn’t able to add touch controls in time for mobile browser, so will require mouse and keyboard.

And for anybody else who reads this, stick around for a while when you get the game over screen for my favorite "glitch turned feature" that I encountered while working on the game! Enjoy!

Thanks so much for checking out my game! This is the 3rd Game Jam I’ve participated in, but it had a lot of firsts for me!
This is the first non-VR game I’ve made in a long time, which took more adjusting to than I thought it would. I was also able to add music this time, which I am very happy with.  This is also the first time I've tried building for a WEB player, which isn't too hard (just a setting in Unity), but still a very cool thing to do for the first time. If the player is a little funky though, that's why!

There are plenty of things I wanted to add but either didn’t have enough time to add, or didn’t know enough to justify spending the time learning how to add them. But I think where I got to is good enough!

- Carpet Flooring

Sound Effects:
- Sound effects didn't make it into the final build. Was having issues, and decided just to leave them out than risk having buggy sfx.
- Would have all come from freesound.org though, if implemented correctly

Models:
- All models used in game were made by me! Made with Blender.

Producers:
- My Spouse - For help with brainstorming, play testing, a big source of encouragement, and mostly importantly for listening to me talk non-stop about this project for the last 10 days.
- My dog - For forcing me to take breaks from working on the game, and being the reason I have to get up early enough to work on it before my job.
